Undergraduate Scholarships

HOW TO APPLY

Requirements:

• Must be a major in Foreign Languages.
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 in the language of study and a 2.8 GPA overall.
• Must demonstrate financial need and/or academic merit.

A complete application package consists of the following:

• Application form (click to download)
• A cover letter in which you introduce yourself briefly and provide information relevant to the criteria stipulated in the award descriptions (for example, information pertaining to financial need and residency status).
• Resume
• Transcript
• A 300-word essay describing how you plan to use your language in the future—written in your target language and translated into English.
• Two letters of recommendation, addressed to Chair, Honors and Awards Committee, P.O. Box 6298, West Virginia University.

Deadline: February 28th of award year (or, if the 28th falls on a weekend, then the following Monday)

You should not stipulate which award you are applying for, as this will be determined by the committee members.
